The painted pattern will vary from garment to garment of the same style because each piece is cut from large scale fabric paintings and is truly one-of-a-kind.

Production Time

As part of the slow fashion movement we aim to avoid the excess of overproduction by having our garments made based on a pre-order system.

Our pre-order periods are two weeks long and at the end of the period we begin our two week production cycle, meaning we produce our orders every two weeks.

Because HECHA / 做 is made to order in NYC, we ask that you please allow at least 2-4 weeks for painting and/or production before your item(s) ships.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Our goal is for HECHA / 做 products to last longer than a fashion cycle (at the very least) and hope to encourage consumers to reduce waste by taking care of and repairing their clothing rather than disposing of it.

HECHA / 做 items have a lifetime warranty: Our warranty is valid only when the product is purchased via hechanyc.com directly or through an authorized reseller. The products eligible for the lifetime warranty are covered to the original owner, for the lifetime of the product.

If the item is defective or damaged upon receipt we will repair or replace the item at our discretion.

Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, and cosmetic damages that do not affect the functionality of the item (such as scratches, stained fabrics, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use).

Damages covered include hardware replacement and reattachment:

  • → Replacing and/or re-attaching buttons or buckles
  • → Replacing elastic straps if they stretch out or deteriorate
  • → Re-attaching elastic straps or zippers

Any damage that is not covered under our warranty can still be repaired for a reasonable rate upon agreement via email.

The customer will be responsible for paying any repairment shipping costs, however local NYC drop-off and pick-up is free. For any warranty related requests, please email us your order number and reason for repair with pictures documenting the issue.

Refund Policy


  • Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

  • To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, or missing parts for reasons not due to our error will not be eligible for refund.

  • To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please email us your order number or confirmation and reason for return to hechanyc@gmail.com. Once your return has been started, please ship the item(s) via a trackable service and email us any tracking info.


  • Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

  • If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment.


  • If you haven’t received a refund yet, please allow at least 24hrs for the credit to post to your bank account.

  • If you still haven’t received your refund after 24hrs, contact your credit card company and/or your bank - it may take some processing time before your refund is officially posted.

  • If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at hechanyc@gmail.com.


  • We only replace items if they are defective or damaged upon receipt. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email with pictures documenting the issue to hechanyc@gmail.com


  • You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. - Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

  • Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

  • We require that the return be shipped via a trackable service. Please email us any tracking info.

  • If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
